Gingerbread House

The kids wanted to decorate a gingerbread house this year.
I even got Dakota included in on it. He put the house together for me while I made dinner. I wanted him to help the kids decorate but he is so into making things look good that he didn't want it "ruined" in his words. At least he helped and next year i guess I'll get him his own.

Notice the earphones. Can't go anywhere without his Ipod these days.

Now is that "ruined" no just done by kids and they had a lot of fun doing it.
Doesn't look "perfect" as Dakota would have it but at least they all had fun!!

New things

Treyden wanted to eat dinner with the "little tray" so after he finished he left it on the floor and Paislee found it. It's her new favorite thing. She loves climbing on it and sitting on it. I hope the hinges will hold lol.

Paislee showing off her new birthday outfit from Grandma Gooch.

I am so behind on blogging I thought I better get some updates in before Christmas.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy TREYDEN

I can't believe my baby boy is 5. (Ok I'm a day late posting, I feel so bad) He is such a big help to me and his sister. Paislee loves him. He is a crack up and is always making us laugh with his cute looks and his funny little sayings (check out the sidebar) and he doesn't like his picture taken. We usually have to bribe him but I got a few yesterday of him opening some presents so I'll post them.

Computer and their own minds

Sorry I haven't posted for a while my computer was having major issues with our router and we reset it and unplugged and did it again and again. It took forever to load anything. So if I wanted to get on the computer I had to go down in Ty's office and get on the computer well, Dakota decided he's had enough of being without his XBox Live and plugged a ethernet (sp?) cord into the router to see if it would work and now the internet is working again. Computers and their gadgets have a mind of there own don't they??!!

We had planned on going to the store the next day to get a new one. I had even dug out the old receipt to see if we had bought the warranty on it. Funny how it worked out so hopefully it will keep on working.

Now I have some updating to do.

Kids, smarter than you think

Kids are smarter than you think they are and Treyden is the funniest kid. He is always saying something funny. The other day (and I'm not condoning it at all) he got mad at Ty and yelled at him that he was a hobo. I looked at Ty and he looked at me and he said Trey what did you call me and Trey said a hobo. Ty then asked him what a hobo was (meanwhile I'm trying not to laugh)? He said its a guy that lives on the street!!?? What the heck??!! I can't believe he knew what it was. I burst out laughing, I couldn't hold it in any longer. I asked him where he heard that from and he told me Colin told him (his cousin).

I guess you really got to watch what you say around them and what they watch on tv because they pick up on everything good and bad. I'm adding more to my funniest sayings on the side of my blog here's a couple of others courtesy of Trey:

That's diabolical (from the Bee Movie)

I need a little piece and quiet. Do you think you can do that for me Paislee? Just a little piece and quiet.

What do you want for Christmas Trey? A box of paperclips (ok there is a story behind this one too.) Trey went with me to Tyler's work and Ty told him all he was getting for Christmas was a box of paperclips. Well he remembered it. I asked Trey if he wanted color ones because they would be fun to play with and he said no he wanted the silver ones. They were easier to bend?? Seriously how do they know all of this. I wasn't even sure he knew what a paperclip was. I could be saving some serious money if all he wants is paperclips ;)

Halloween

I totally forgot my camera and didn't take pictures (except for with my phone) of my kids for Halloween. My whole routine for Halloween was off because Tyler was referring a football game and didn't make it home then we went to a different trunk or treat so we had to leave earlier and then I forgot my camera. So I'm taking pictures of the kids today. I'm recreating Halloween. Making them get in their costumes and doing a picture. I'll post them later.

Adoption News!!

Some of you have asked from time to time about our adoption and some of you are wondering and others are saying adoption you have a baby???....

Well to start out I'll go back a little... we had decided to adopt from China put in our papers got our LID which is Log In Date and the wait got longer and longer, found out I was pregnant, had Paislee (that should catch you up a little)

The wait for a NSN which is non-special needs adoption is 3-5 years, I would say more like 8 realistically but who knows. Anyway I get updates from our agency and check them out from time to time and something made me go into the waiting child part of our agencies website. I kept getting "pulled in" as you might say. The wait for the Waiting Child is about 18 months or less depending on what you put down that you would accept could be shorter or longer and how many people are in front of you. If you want a boy the wait is really short. Yes China has boys that need a family!!

Anyway I looked at the website for a couple of days and then I saw "her". I started shaking and got really hot and sent an email asking to look at her file. I thought it would be just a random thing. I called Tyler and told him I found our China baby. He laughed and I showed him her picture when he got home. We got an email back saying that another family was already looking at her file and that they're was a waiting list and if she wasn't taken by another family...then we could look at it. So I figured oh she'll get adopted she is a cutie!! I would go back to look at the website each week to see if she'd been adopted or spoken for and I hadn't seen anything yet then kindof forgot about it. So about a month to a month in a half later I get an email asking if we would like to look at "Zoie's" file that we had requested I said yes and called Tyler told him she wasn't adopted and we had a file to look at. He said he would do it in a minute if we had the money but we don't so.... anyway we looked over her file our agency said we had about a week to get back to them, to take it to a doctor and talk to our social worker anyway we were going to Disneyland in a week so we were freaking out a little. We sent in our LOI after we got back from Disneyland after much thought and prayer and knew this little girl was supposed to be in our family.

(If you are still hanging in here reading you are a real trooper and hopefully get to see a picture of her)

When we got back we sent in our LOI which is Letter of Intent to China and then wait for PA which is Pre-Approval from China which we got today!! Next is Letter of Acceptance then Travel Approval then we leave to pick her up.

Huntington Beach

Paislee loved the beach. I think she was glad to finally get down and crawl. The sand was soft not like the hard cement at Disneyland.
Tyson and I think Colin hanging out as the waves come in.
